Walkable City Community Read

  • Spirit of the Lake Community Arts 5401 East Superior Street Duluth, MN, 55804 United States (map)

Join the UMD Urban Excellence Institute and your neighbors for a community conversation about walkability and how walkable neighborhoods can contribute to healthy, successful communities.

Each month, the group visits a different Duluth neighborhood and explores a different section of Walkable City: How Downtown Can Save America One Step At A Time by Jeff Speck. Attend one event or join the whole series!

The December conversation will focus on “The Comfortable Walk” and “More Comfort.”

You don't need to have read the book to participate. Copies are available to check out through the Duluth Public Library and UMD Library. Additional resources are available for those who want to join the conversation without reading the book. Want to learn more? View the full Community Read information sheet for reading suggestions, additional resources, and details about the other events in the series.

Hosted by the UMD Urban Excellence Institute. Funding support provided by the Knight Foundation Fund of Boreal Waters Community Foundation.
